Seeing as to how majorettes have gotten popular again, I was wondering if anyone would know if the Impala casting is going to be re-released or not. it is by far one of my favourite majorette castings.

I would strongly guess not - None of the "old" Majorette castings seems to be in production anymore, except the speedboat and trailer which I have seen with a newer semi truck.

Even some of the new ones from 2000s were very short-lived and replaced with the current line-up. I also heard that the Majorette factory was a victim of a tsunami or something some years ago and some of the molds were lost.

it has never been out of production as Impalas with plastic baseplate (instead of metal) are still available in Thailand - but only on the domestic market.
But I think this year could be the last one...

I have a POLICE Impala and Japanese Impala with new 5Y wheels and plastic base.

A favorite of mine as well, fun to collect the many variations....Hope they find a way to keep it in production for more years.

Earlier this year I got Japanese versions of the Impala police and fire chief cars - believe they both had plastic bases and the "newer wheels.)

Wow, haven't seen those versions before. Though I haven't collected the Impala, I have also quite a few. There has been also a Sonic Flashers without opening doors and a Plastic-bodied version with a metal base that differ from the normal casting.

Evolution of the Impala...

Shift from metal to plastic base was during the 5spoke period.
The latest variation with 5Y wheels was only available with plastic base (as they are still this year in Thailand)

That's my newest acquisition. Never seen an Impala with these wheels before. Blister ist unopend. The model must be original. May more an error than a variation.

Very interesting. Never seen any with that wheel type either.

I have been missing your obscure Majorette variations!
