Just the models, no diorama set up (yet)![]() ![]() The end flap......it took me quite a while to figure out what this illustration is.....I thought, maybe a tunnel? A dog house (for the miscreants who attracted two USFS LEOs to this otherwise tranquil campsite....)? Finally, when coupled with the wrap-around backside illustration, decided it must represent a family-size tent, with a rain fly and external poles.....I might add, the spider is so nostalgical....it reminded me of a childhood memory of family camping in the Sierra Nevada of California: I remember when we used a surplus army wall tent for the family, and one experience where a big red spider was dangling from the tent door while I was inside. I feared spiders mightily, and I can distinctly remember (I was about 6 or 7, probably) being terrified by the thing. Dad had to come and kill or remove the spider to shut me up......thanks, GreenLight (and Matt) for re-traumatizing me a half-century later! But then, who hangs a wooden sign on their tent? ![]() The contents: ![]() I guess the guy at the right is supposed to be the "Ranger", with his ticket book in hand....but his shirt is kinda the wrong color.... It's the cops! Hide the beer! ![]() 2013 Ford Explorer ![]() ![]() ![]() along with my favorite "A" plate (A012345) (the "A" is for "Agriculture"....the federal Department to which the US Forest Service belongs) ![]() 2015 Ford F150 in older USFS colors....still in use, of course.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 1972 VW T2 camper with poptop (wish they could have figured out how to make this a working feature...) (never mind the wheel....more on that later) ![]() ![]() ![]() And the reason for all the attention from Law Enforcement? ![]() Seems the guy in the Jeep took a little road rage out on the VW with a sledge hammer and busted the wheel right in..... Speaking of which (or whom?) ![]() '93 Jeep Wrangler YJ Sahara ![]() ![]() ![]() And some of the Green Light US Forest Service rigs so far.....(I have the '65 Dodge somewhere, and managed to get the F150 in its white livery as well...it's buried in the bottom of a tub.) ![]() ![]() Hope this wasn't too boring...... |

Nice set. Shame on the VW's wheel. That casting is issues in general. Especially the rear wheels rubbing on the interior. I'll be looking for the Wrangler by itself on Evilbay.

Nice set. I do plan to get it but will probably put the non forest service models in the sale/flea market forum someday. Your comment about Army surplus tents brought back a lot of memories - our Boy Scout troop was blessed with a whole bunch of the two man surplus tents that we used on all of our campouts, bike trips and such - we, too, had our share of spiders, ticks and other assorted bugs not to mention the chipmunk that chewed a hole in my dad's sleeping bag when we were do a backpacking trip in the Cascades. But back to the Forest Service models - these are a sharp looking pair!
