Has GL done this before? (Included 'customization' decals/stickers and left those details off the model?)

I've been wishing Matchbox would do something like this for some castings. Of course, modelers (self included) have stocks of decals on the workbench they can use, but having some pre-printed in various liveries, sold maybe as a $1.00 accessory pack or something, would be awesome.

Yes please, and not just police decals, but sponsor decals and maybe ones suitable for other public servants as well.

I know a lot of collectors complained about all of the NYPD models having 3100 on them so wonder if this isn't GL's way to provide an option for collectors. Maybe if this is successful they might consider other types of decals for fire/ambulance - and perhaps even sold separately. Just my :02:

I just saw this too- it would be hard to do the precinct and smaller vehicle numbers in this scale 1 by 1. I would rather have seen a batch of different ones to choose from so you just don't have 20 or so vehicle 3100's patrolling around your 1:64 lower manhattan... still it's a good idea. hope to see more of this.

This is a very astute line of thinking and it is spot on. Let us know what everyone thinks.

Happy New Year!

This can't be anything other than a winner. Great idea for future HP cars.
