I picked up a new Blazer 4x4 today and after opening it hadn't realized how much they had changed this casting. Biggest change I noticed was now the doors are molded shut. I put it beside an older one to compare.

I'm surprised it is still in the line, I don't recall seeing it for some time now. Since it is back, it doesn't surprise me the doors are now sealed. Two of the last coffin nails that got my attention are the metal base on the Tail Dragger and the opening hood of the 65 Mustang convertible. I figure last on the list will be the old 67 Camaro...I see they are sneaking in a 69 Camaro in it's place.

I thought the same thing. The S-10 Blazer came out in 1983 so it's surprising it's still around.

I have always found it interesting how long Hot Wheels makes use of some of their castings - especially when compared to most of the other manufacturers of little cars. It is also interesting to see the newest version of the Blazer has a similar tampo design to the older one. Kind of neat.
