I still hope to see HW bring these Black/Red Box, Oil Can, and the entire 100% line back. Back then everyone thought they were too much at 6-8 bucks each, but now that the average price of a JL, GL, RC, or AW car is 6-8 bucks, I think they would sell faster than Hot Cakes!!!

Interesting how our thoughts and perspectives change over the course of time. So many of us cringed at the price of those 100% collectible models in their day and now think "nothing" of spending $5 or more for a GreenLight or M2 model. This series was very nice from Hot Wheels and would be nice to see them offer these types of models again.

15+ years ago $6 - $8 for a diecast car was a lot. The oil can cars were $10 at K-Mart near the end of the line for these cars.
If Hot Wheels brought these back now I'm sure they wouldn't be the same price.

My thoughts exactly. They were $10 a pop everywhere I ever found them. That's why I only snagged a tiny handful at retail.

I pick *most* models up now if I can get them around $4-5 each, some sit at that price (a little looking and you can figure out which ones), and others fetch $20 and up routinely.

Needless to say I don't buy many GLs (I just don't go to TrU all that often) unless second hand, usually here. I do sometimes find M2, but I'm really picky about what I grab at the price, and more often than not it ends up being one of the car carriers.

I'm guessing if Matty brought back this line, we would expect to see them priced in the $15-20 range at retail. Nice cars, no doubt, but at prices like that I would still be *really* picky.
