As they say, long time listener, first time caller. I used to be one of the people who started selling NASCAR customs on eBay but I had kids and started running them to soccer or dance, etc and well got away from the hobby for a while. Anyways the kids are older and I am back and starting to create the cars that I actually want which is Le Mans, Trans Am & Road Racing cars. Here are a couple that I have done from the past as well as my first completion that I have been thinking of making for about 10 years now (even though Carrera RSR seems to have beaten me to it).

My first to share is the 1998 24 hours of Daytona runner up Porsche 911 GT1 from ROHR racing.

This one if from the 1997 Le Mans race from Roock Racing Motorsports - the car started 18th and was driver by Allan McNish. Unfortunately the car did not finish the race due to an accident.

ktaz - Fantastic sports car racing customs. Your choice of using the Kyosho Porsche GT1 Evo 1997 as the base model for making a custom of the 1998 2nd overall & 1st in GT1 class Rohr Racing 01 was absolutely correct. I used a Matchbox white 1996 Porsche GT1 model (not an Evo) for my initial custom of that car. It is larger (probably a 1:60 scale) base and used Jim Heller decals versus the Patto's Place decal you used. I finally obtained a flat sided white 1/64 scale Kyosho GT1 Evo and plan to do another custom of the Rohr Racing 01 racer, but need to either paint or use a white decal to cover the black engine cover and the light grey roof.

Your Maserati MC12's are also excellent. Please keep doing sports car racing customs and sharing them with us on Swifty's.

Thank you everyone - one more for this week - it is the #16 Porsche 917k that started 3rd in the 1970 12 Hours of Sebring but did not finish, accident. It is based off a Corgi 917.

OK this one I am pretty happy about because I kind of got a two for one out of it - I created the Danny Moore #57 Trans Am Mustang - which started life as a Johnny Lightning Boss 302 mustang -
Posted Image
First I needed to change out the wheels which is not easy with a Johnny Lightning I found but I got some wheels from A George Fulmer mustang Posted Image
Which I has bought some white wheels on eBay to update to the proper color.Posted Image
Posted Image
Then it was just a couple of small Patto's decals to put on and finish up the car.

So I just noticed that I have Goodyear stickers and Firestone tires on the M2 Machine Danny Moore Mustang, oops - lol fixed that.

Here is the 1969 Jerry Titus #13 Pontiac Firebird. Titus drove for Terlingua and Shelby in 67 & 68 changed over to Pontiac in 69 then unfortunately died in a practice lap at Road America July 19, 1970.
