I've seen this batch at 3 of 5 area Walmarts, but in each case (instance, not 'batch') the Mercedes and VW were gone by the time I visited the stores. The Subaru WRX (a NEW casting) is apparently NOT as popular as either of the aforementioned models, as I can still find them on pegs at two of the three stores, even after buying two for myself. (I know, I've commented on the subject at least twice in other threads....and I'm STILL whining..... )

The other two WM in the area are still on Case/Batch E and/or F....and have overflowing pegs of each. We need Mattel to increase the number of models in a case so more than two of each model (at most under current conditions) can be shipped to stores. I'm as guilty as other collectors in that I'm likely to buy two of any new casting if there are two on the pegs--especially when there are two variations released simultaneously and both are on the pegs....but still, when there are only two in a case, and a store gets only one case, it can take months, or perhaps never, for another batch with those models to appear in that or other area stores. :fiddle:

Otherwise, it seems Mattel doesn't have a problem with 'entrepreneurs' high-grading every store to make profits on the $1 cars that are supposed to be available at 'brick-and-mortar' retail. I mentioned in another thread (and I'm sure some readers have seen it for themselves) that the Mercedes is on ebay for $10-and-up for ONE.....that isn't helping Mattel's bottom line. It's especially frustrating to encounter case after case of Hot Wheels being constantly restocked at major retailers (Walmart and Fred Meyer in this area), so much that they have weekly new aisle- and side-kicks filled to the brim with HW.....but we in the Matchbox world have to hope and pray we're in a store the minute a new batch arrives or the 'best' new castings slip from our grasp, and the remnants and Matchbox "originals" hang for weeks and months before another shipment arrives.

Okay, I'll shut up now and go back under my rock....

It's amazing how here at our ASDA my local scalper managed to get about 12 of those HW slammed VW pickups in one batch, yet Matchbox are so thin. I like this batch, I can't wait for it to arrive next year!

I just found this batch at my local Wally yesterday (6/20). They were probably on the previous night's truck, since they were not there the previous day when I stopped in. I got the VW Transporter, the first I'd seen it in the wild.

A friend gave me one of the VW Transporter in green--the one without tire/etc in the bed. He found it at an Albertson's grocery store in his town (a town with one Dollar Tree, a closing Family Dollar, and an Oregon membership-store called Bi-Mart ($5 for lifetime "membership"). He found another for himself AND the Mercedes AMG 6x6 (or whatever it's called) at a Fred Meyer store I had been in two days before with no luck myself. Otherwise, the two local WM that didn't have signs of the G batch (3 others did, but the Mercedes and VWs were gone at all three) still have no evidence that G batch has been stocked--just checked again the past couple of days. It's been years since I found something at Albertson's in the "toy" section...usually just overpriced HW and SunToy cards.

I did find remnants of this batch at a local WMs last weekend, and managed to find a Subaru police car and a Mercedes 6x6 still hanging there,
no VW, I'm sure it was long since gone by the time I came across the batch there.

Question, I didn't pick up that Jungle Crawler (old military type truck) because it looked like I may have had that version already,
so I'm wondering if this is one of those times they re-issued a model in an old paint scheme? Thanks

Hmmm, maybe I already found my answer, just checked BAMCA, and this one does appear to be the same or very similar to the 2010 release.
