Milton Fox Racing posted up an interesting new find of his over in the Showroom, and that made me remember I have a similar model at home that I built in the early to mid 70's.

I don't know much about it, or where I even got it from, but here it is in all it's glory....

They do look very similiar. Is the top of the bed a wood insert or paper? It looks like metal from the bottom. It also looks like your grill and window frame are metal as well. The ones in the Scale Diecast kit are chromed plastic.

Yours looks nice though. How did you paint yours?

The bed has a piece of thin wood paneling that I cut to fit.

Most of it is metal, including the grill and windshield frame. The headlight fixture, the taillights, the seat and the canopy, as well as the wheels are plastic that I had to paint. As far as I can remember I painted the entire body with a brush (I didn't spray it, that's for sure).

I did a search on eBay this morning, and there seems to be a lot of these Hubleys available.

LOL, thanks, but it's a very basic and easy to build model. Held together with a few screws. It was a very long time ago that I built it, but if I recall correctly, the pieces fit together a bit roughly and the fit wasn't all that great (needed some filing here & there).

Nice old truck.

Yes, Hubley made a number of these old model kits back in the 60s. A bit before my time, but my dad had a few sitting on a high shelf over the window in my bedroom.

I see them pretty often looking for Real Toys, but these are a larger scale so I don't bother with them, but they seem to be pretty popular on the whole.
