Good question! The wheels do look like Zee ones....

I found similar cars in the database but I don't think any have wheels like this. Sadly the front axle is bent. :(

No. That is one of Motor Max's originals. I think they inherited those wheels when they acquired or evolved from Zylmex.

Well that's interesting! Were Motor Max and Zylmex related? It's a nice casting but these wheels suck.
It'll get new ones in the future and possibly new paint.

Short answer, yes. I forget how Red Box International (RBI) fits into the picture, I think they bought Zee / Zylmex and from the ashes of that company raised up Motor Max...and why Motor Max early on used some Zee castings.

I really like the few Motor Max 1/64 cars I have. I only have one Zylmex and I can see how they are similar.

Motor Max quality went way up as they moved into the Fresh Cherries and American Graffiti lines, which are markedly better than anything I ever saw from Zee / Zylmex. The budget line though is very similar in many respects between the two.

Your white van would be a 1980's Bedford CF from Faie. Older versions have the name on the base plate as BEDFORD CF SUMMER VAN. Scale is 1/60.

A couple of pictures of real ones:

Cool! This is what was printed on the base of the van:

MMER VAN SCALE MO

It looks like they weren't able to fit all the words on the base...

They probably reworked the base plate mould for some reason which deleted some of the text and then never bothered to reëngrave it.
"MO" would likey be "MODEL".

Yeah, that van was originally made by Summer as a police/fire van. Faie bought (stole?) the mold and carved a bubble window in the back. Yours was likely the Chuck -e- Cheese version.

Posted Image

Looks like your version came out in 1990 with those spiral wheels.

Thanks! When I got it the decals were gone and the thing was filthy like it had been dug out of a sandbox. I had to open it up and clean all the dried dirt out of it. Nice collection by the way!

The base was modified many many times, as it was used by several companies. Each time, words were lost.
