Apparently Matchbox just came out with at least four Color Changers cars for 2017. They include the '68 Ford Mudstanger (Yellow), '57 GMC Stepside (Lt Green), Coyote 500 (White) and Volkswagen Transporter Crew Cab (Green) Does anybody know what stores will carry them?

WHAT! the COYOTE 500, are they still making that thing.....guess kids must like it. Thanks for the news! It would be neat to see color changers in stores, though I'm not big on plastic bodies, but I guess that is the way they do it nowadays. I'll probably get the two pick ups if I can find them. |

Dirty changes to clean. Maybe an idea for another car wash playset? |

Found them today at Walmart, I only got the T3 for now, they are kind of expensive for my budget at $3.97 each. For a plastic body it has some weight with the metal base I guess it is. ![]() ![]()

I've seen all but the T2 pickup in stores; thought the GMC was nice, but not worth $4 just because it "changes colors". The Coyote.....same feelings as others: "THAT'S still around?!" Has anyone else seen or heard of the un-named "camouflage" series? Found them in Walmart and don't remember ever hearing about them here or anywhere else before. I don't even remember them being mentioned by the Matchbox folks in ABQ the past few years. All of a sudden, there's this new series of 6 vehicles in camo.....looks like HW rubbing off too much on Matchbox, if you ask me. Caveat: I bought the 4 in 'summer/fall' camo....left the two "winter" generics/Matchboxoriginals hanging. I should add that they're selling for $1.27 + tax (each) at WM here. So, prices going up for singles? Does plain old camouflage require a license? Is Matchbox paying HW for a license to decorate Matchbox models the way HW "pioneered" last year? The camouflage series was announced months ago (maybe a year ago). I know because I put the Land Cruiser and Rhino on my wanted list right away. I'd guess the price is higher simply because they are a 'special' series. |

Yeah, these new Color Changers are rather pricey, I'd actually put the one I got back on the pegs at least once while I was looking around, but in the end I figured the VW would end up to be the most popular and disappear quick, so I thought I can always give it to a friend (who likes to collect VWs) at Christmas time, since he may never find one of these. |

You're not far off. Today I saw some type of color-changer car washing truck at Target. I can't remember what it was called, but it came with a color changer and had some type of spin washing mechanism. $19.99, I think.Truly another "wait for it to go on clearance before you buy one."

I kinda like the Coyote. It's a bit goofy looking ànd you can convert it into a kick-ass post-apoc warrior buggy. Check this out : http://blackwidowpilot.blogspot.be/2013/01/ As for the colour changers.... I think I'll pass. They just don't do it for me. Edited by Sergoids, Aug 17 2017, 03:49 AM.

I picked up the one with the stuff in the back today....I really like that detail....the other one, I have too many of the mainline empty-bed already so paying 'up' to get another one with nothing in the back was not amenable to me. |
