1946 Hudson Pickup

Yes a 1946 Hudson Pickup from the new CARS movie representing Smokey Yunick. It seems appropriate that they would use a Hudson to have been the mentor to Doc Hudson. Smokey is now trying to help Lightning overcome his "aging" issues. :D Several other vintage race cars, a Nash and a couple of Fords make an appearance in the movie that I am hoping and assuming we will see in diecast. The other vintage race cars represent Louise Smith, Jr. Johnson and Wendell Scott. Yeah, I enjoyed the movie too - Father's Day treat from my youngest granddaughter and son and his wife.

I took my grandson to see the 3D movie last week. We both enjoyed it. I also picked up this truck!

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
Smokey's coincidentally today's Car Of The Day! I also grabbed him when I saw him, and I can't wait to see the movie. Pixar is paying homage to the all time greats - I think that deserves kudos.

Yes - I commented on that fact in the COTD post. :D The third movie is much better than the second one.

Wow, I've seen this truck, and picked it up, but didn't realize that it was a Hudson truck. I'll have to grab one next time I see one.

Turn the clock back to the 1970's and I could tell where two were that were for sale out west - yes I know that was over forty years ago - I am pretty well removed from the old car hobby although in looking at the current Hemmings Classic Cars ads there are a number of Hudson pickups for sale.

I am wondering if Smokey will generate other Hudson pickup models like Doc Hudson did when CARS first came out? :D
