As you can see I'm averse to opening these.....this is the only Dodge Dakota in my collection....the other emergency vehicles in the McDs series I have loose and bagged. What ever happened to the Dakota, anyway? Not so long ago....yet no longer in the line....

Of course, if you have loose photos of this, and/or with stickers attached, please feel free to add them to this thread.

Well, I haven't a clue! They're not that familiar to me from Matchbox models....but this is also a 2002 model....and like I said, the only version of a Dakota in my collection. My other contemporary Matchbox models don't seem to have any wheels like this....

:toy: I am thinking this is the one from the McDonald's series that I do not have either the US or Canadian versions in my collection. I don't see it listed in my data base but I will double check just in case it snuck in. :D

Blair, the Dakota casting is actually a late 1980's model, which I believe was used through the 90's as well, but the 2002 date was for the McD's version, which was probably a modified casting from the original.

I do have this one loose, and a bit used as I recall, but if I have a photo it is in my PB albums, and so it would be difficult to find and copy it to my new host.

Here is an Intercom City playset version, I believe that line was from around 1992 or thereabouts.

In one of the other forums I post in the wheel discussion also popped up. I havent seen any like this before either and it is not in either HW or MB wiki fandom wheel listings. Both HWs and MB has a close lace wheel, but the spokes are y shaped. Two contacts on the outer rim and one to the center. On the Dakota and Snorkel truck (depending on your view point) are v shaped or parrallel 20 spokes. If you look a them dead on - they also appear concave instead of convex. An intereting wheel set for sure!

MBX should really bring this wheel back!

Thanks Doug, Mark and MFR! Looks like the Canadian release must be for the Galactic Fireball Police department. B)

Doug, thanks for the photo of the Dakota in its Intercom City livery......as I've noted before, I've never been able to find them when they were at retail and I keep forgetting to check ebay for "Intercom City"....
