I've only seen a couple of these in stores, and had picked up one with the tampos on it awhile back. A few weeks ago, I found THIS one, plain, no tampos. Since I don't think the diecast makers have taken my suggestion to make a plain and a tampo version  , I'd almost bet this is a mistake. Anyone else seen any of these GMC pickups with no tampos on them?

Jerry

not yet & I'd say it is mistake
Plus the truck should be facing the other way too

Support your local demo derby.

It should have side tampo strikes on both sides. You have a variation or a mistake depending on your view point of collecting.

Matchbox face left. That's the correct position for it. Can you tell if the other side has tampos? I'd love a plain brown one just like that, I wish that was a more common error as so many cars (HW mostly, but the occasional MB too) look much better when they are nice and simple.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Matchbox reaches new heights in ways to save money on tampo runs....just don't include them!

I like it!

Matchbox did a number of tampo free versions of this casting back some years ago, the original release was as well, although my favorites were this Sheriff version, and the military one a year or so back, I think that was from a 5 pk though.
