It is well known, that the appearance of Hot Wheels had a huge impact on the die cast market, urging manufacturers to come up with cool and wild looking models. Big wheels, big engines, flashy designs were needed. I guess this was Polistilīs answer to come up with something cool and wild looking, appealing to kids. Although based on real cars (VW Beetle, Mini Cooper and Fiat 500) these were really odd looking, especially if you know the beauty of the Polistil RJ series models. Still, they are fun - all metal and quite heavy for itīs size. Only the Beetle has the year 1974 written on base, so to me they are some oddity of the 70īs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Interesting topic. I believe I have seen your photos before and like (hesitate to always say "love") these characters. They fit so well with toy cars. Bueno! What series are these figurines from again? |

They are called Homies. A few are in 1/64 but the majority ( like this one) are around 1/24. They came packaged with Jada Homie Rollers cars years ago and were also sold in bubblegum machines. My daughters collected the 1/24 scale ones at the time. |

The car shown represents an early Fiat 127 My aunt used to have one long ago. One thing i remember about it is, that it was an incredible noisy car. When reaching approx. 90 Km/h, we kids in the back seat could not hear what aunty was saying in front. |
