There's something so charming about those old Lesneys. Accurate yet simple. |

Most are trucks that do something, either accessories or other moving parts, that's why Matchbox were so great......That Ford Transit truck was one I always liked, well at least since I started collecting, since it was one of those models from between childhood and collecting days. |

The Blue Circle cement truck is great. Looks expensive to find in that condition today. Same with the blue builders supply trucks. Like them all. I especially liked the Hoveringham in King Size - added a touch of more reality. Great stuff. I have two of the Ford Transits, but one is missing the cargo. I remember using that exact same crane with that pipe truck and trying to balance the end of a pipe on the crane hook. |

Correct, the one in this topic is not K.S. - was just saying I liked it in K.S. I just looked on and the cement truck is indeed expensive.

I am sure there are other construction threads - I know I had one a while back with a bunch of the Matchbox models doing road work but that would have been in the photobucket days and those pictures are toast at the moment. And I figured as quite as it was at the Garage I would just start a new thread for all to enjoy. I hope to get a few more pictures posted before I leave tomorrow for a week at camp. |

I'd like to have more early MBX, but the prices have really skyrocketed. |

Now I'm quoting myself. In any event, here is my King Size (K.S.) Foden Type S21 Hoveringham tipper. One of just a small handful of K.S. in The Closeum. Had to dig for almost an hour to find this, so I hope you enjoy it. While I was a lad, the K.S. and larger Corgis were in a different tax bracket than my dad's. I totally dug them, but just didn't have the coin to buy them. Seemed wonderfully extravagant! Picked this up in October 2010 at the Buffalo show. Stored in a plastic baggie due to the wheels being real lose. Probably deserves to be photographed out of doors to give it that extra umph of realism. Just noticed the tires say Lesney / England. How cool! Recall seeing a video or two on youtube that shows these old Foden lorries being started and driven around. Amazing to see.![]()
