I think I will be searching all the MBX pegs in 2018!!
Searching is the key word here - hopefully they'll continue to address the distribution issues as well.

All in all, another solid list - and I am looking forward to seeing how these models as they are developed. I am also excited to see opening features tooled into some of the models (which the team showed during their presentation).

I caught some of the live video on Lamley Group's FB page tonight. Some exciting picks! Opening doors/hoods are coming back in a big way. I think I missed a lot of the show, the top of the screen says 2018 Fall.

VW Fastback, Mercedes Sedan and Pontiac Grand Prix: I didn't understand if they were reviving the old castings or all new.
Xterra with opening hatch
New Camaro
Crown Vic, I think
Vintage Jeep Wagon
Tesla with opening gull doors
60s Chevy pickup w/ camper
BMW i8 with opening scissor doors
21 window VW with opening barn doors
Datsun Z - revived casting
Renault concept with opening body half
Henry J gasser with flip front
80s Buick convertible -some kind of movie tie-in
Modern Chevy Pickup
Vintage Torino Funny car
Food Truck with opening something

Take this all with a grain of salt, I'm typing this from memory.
Check out The Lamley Group website and follow them on FB for a better report.

WOW,some interesting castings. Maybe a couple more European/Asian/Australian vehicles needed but a definite improvement re diecast focus.
Hopefully Mattel can sell the ranges into the rest of world markets.

Cheers,J

 Lots of neat stuff listed. Very surprised to see the 1948 Diamond Reo and '33 Plymouth - excited about the '64 Ford wagon and looking forward to the Scania and Volvo fire trucks! Way to go Matchbox - this is the Matchbox I remember from my kid days. And this is just the new models - makes one wonder with excitement what new liveries we will see on existing models such as the '51 Hudson. :D

Photos from the Lamley Group on Instagram :)

There will be a premium line with opening features, as you can see on some of these prepros. I think the models are not 100% defined yet, but this is what I understood from the presentation:

VW Fastback, Mercedes Benz 220, Nissan X-Terra (old casting), Pontiac Grand Prix (60s), Camaro (hood), Crown Victoria Police y Taxi, Jeep Willys Station Wagon, Tesla Model X, Chevrolet Camper Truck, BMW i8, VW Combi (barn doors), Nissan 300 ZX (old casting), Renault Trezor Concept, flip-top hood Gasser, Buick Riviera Convertible 1983 (or so), 2018 GMC Sierra, 71' Ford Torino Funny Car, Food truck.

Included are some castings done pretty much just like the original molds from the 60's: VW Fastback, Pontiac Grand Prix and Mercedes 220.

Kind of glad I wasn't at the convention to see all this, I might have embarrassed myself with excitement in front of crowds. :D
Just kidding, I'm usually fairly reserved, but still excited.

I can't list all the models I can't wait for, but I've been hoping for a Matchbox version of an old Cherokee or Wagoneer for ages,
then there are new pick ups and wagons, fire engine, wrecker, trailer with boat, Greyhound, to name a few,
and then to have something NASA coming on top of it all. :1: :bowing:

Sounds like some big plans for the line, and hopeful it pans outs, and the distribution allows it to met the masses.

I have to say the return of the RWR's has me stoked the most. Of course the new Fire Rigs are great news also.

Great line up. I see about 20 castings I would be interested in. That huge because I haven't been interested in that many new Matchboxes in decades.

I see that the arrival of Majorette in the USA has them worried - finally, some decent competition and Matchbox are improving their products :)

I sure hope that you're right, Dino/pangolin/Jasmine.

The play value in these Majorettes with opening features could give Mattel some incentive to go back to the "roots" of Matchbox.

Nice website too by the way.

more like heck yeah! cannot wait to see it myself, the senicruiser is iconic. hopefully with that, mbx will get on to producing the best transit bus ever built...the fishbowl, aka the new look. then they can make the bus from speed. also like that they are adding a Volvo fire truck, and cant wait to see the rest.
