Photos from the Lamley Group on Instagram :)

There will be a premium line with opening features, as you can see on some of these prepros. I think the models are not 100% defined yet, but this is what I understood from the presentation:

VW Fastback, Mercedes Benz 220, Nissan X-Terra (old casting), Pontiac Grand Prix (60s), Camaro (hood), Crown Victoria Police y Taxi, Jeep Willys Station Wagon, Tesla Model X, Chevrolet Camper Truck, BMW i8, VW Combi (barn doors), Nissan 300 ZX (old casting), Renault Trezor Concept, flip-top hood Gasser, Buick Riviera Convertible 1983 (or so), 2018 GMC Sierra, 71' Ford Torino Funny Car, Food truck.

Included are some castings done pretty much just like the original molds from the 60's: VW Fastback, Pontiac Grand Prix and Mercedes 220.
What's that brown police 4x4 in the first picture? I can seem to figure it out 🤔

Overall, a great line-up with a lot of variety. I think we were all caught by surprise with several of these choices haha.

Many interesting models are there but i'm most excited about the MGB GT.
I'm just hoping that Matchbox returns on the pegs permanently here in Finland.

It's not the Kenner Fast 111's-turned-Matchbox Chevy Blazer?

I am watching the "inspiration list" very anxiously, that Edsel is still there, untouched... come on Matchbox, we want a Citation/Corsair 4-door Hardtop!

The MGB was the most surprising reveal for me. I was not expecting that at all. I actually had to look up the car

I believe that the fourth row in the first pic is the next Best of Release. Blazer, Alfa, Bentley, 914, Magnum (plus a Caterham).

I want that 83 Buick Riviera. I haven't been this excited about a MB casting since the Olds Vista Cruiser.

too bad the distribution sucks. one 24 ct box per store per batch is not conducive to collecting the whole set, unless you are right there when the box is pegged. and that turns people off from collecting. And I know its a frequent complaint, but the only cars that hang for long are the generic crap. all the real vehicles disappear as soon as they hit the pegs, same for the blue brand. I know the generics "pay the bills" so to speak, but I would pay a bit more per model if they would drop generics to find the good stuff on a regular basis instead of driving from store to store.

Don't forget that some of the generics ("Matchbox originals") are really good models, a prime example being the Hazard Squad. (With the good also come the drecks, at least as far as hardcore "collectors" are concerned.)

The 'good old days' when there was only one toy store in town, and it had a display on the counter with all 75 models visible and the boxed models behind the counter, spoiled many of us. The "competition" of the free market has it's benefits (more retailers carrying the product) and it's negatives (mass-ordering by corporate offices all at once, and centralized distribution hubs with huge warehouses and hundreds of stores to supply in the region served).

I'm lucky to live where there are multiple retailers carrying Matchbox, and multiple branches of those same companies. However, I found everything I 'needed' to get up-to-date down in Albuquerque....and thankfully so, since I still haven't seen most of that in stores locally.

The Matchbox team revealed the coming two years' products will have MORE licensed vehicles and fewer "original" models....and one of those "originals" is the "Speed Trapper", another realistic but wholly 'invented' diecast toy. (The 'working part' knob that changes the 'radar speed' is kinda obnoxious, but hey, it's a WORKING part!!! On a 3-inch toy 'car'!)

Still, the problem exists.....and stores probably only get one case when an order is fulfilled....and then won't reorder until stock levels fall below a set number. That means whole cases may be skipped, or maybe not show up until months later.....after the consumer has been frustrated and paid up on ebay and other online sources.
