This Eagle transporter has been in my possession since the '70s when this British tv-show aired.
It is still in surprisingly good condition considering the fact that I had tons of fun with it!

Fantastic! I remember that TV show and those models. Here in Canada we got Matchbox, Corgi and Dinky toys as well as Hot Wheels. I am pretty sure I had a couple of the Thunderbirds TV show vehicles made by Corgi or Dinky toys. Awesome that you still have yours. I wish I had kept all my old Corgis models from when I was a kid in the late 60's early 70's.

Cool picture!

Nice! I used to have it as a plastic model kit. It was my favorite model/toy at the time & I had countless fun adventures with it.

I remember watching SPACE:1999 with Martin Landau in the mid-late 70s here in the states, I believe it was in syndication at the time. I don't recall much about the show, but I loved the models they used. The Eagle was about the closest thing I remember seeing of a space truck, with changeable payloads for various operations. It was a great concept vehicle.

I also have one of these from my childhood - it's a great piece

I was sad to hear that the star of Space 1999, that fine American actor Martin Landau, passed away recently. Your pic was a timely tribute Sergoids

Neat to see the Space 1999 space craft - remember watching that years ago. Dinky Toys also made miniatures of the USS Enterprise and the Klingon Bird of Prey - think they are still down in the basement - I gave them to my son years ago as he was a Star Trek person and knew he would enjoy them and pretty sure they are still down in his old room.

Hi Mikey,

Thank you for the compliment. However, I did not know he passed away so it is a bit of a coincidental tribute.

His passing away is indeed sad but upon looking at his impressive filmography I think we can safely assume he lived a good and varied life!

You can check it out here : http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001445/

It really is impressive!

I wanted that model when it was in stores, but prevented myself from buying it at the time because I only "collected" fire engines.....now I collect space vehicles as long as they're small enough and tickle my fancy....just picked up another HW Action Pack, this one dedicated to John Glenn, with 3 figures of him (Friendship 7 and Space Shuttle Discovery astronaut, and senator included) down in Albuquerque last month.

Space 1999 was one of my favorite shows at the time....with Mr. Landau and his wife Barbara Bain (who also shared credits with him in Mission: Impossible). The Eagle was a really cool "space vehicle".

Man, those things sell high. At least they did some years ago. I got one fairly cheap, but it's missing the plastic pod in the middle, but otherwise in good condition. I loved that show when it came out, I watched it faithfully. Sorry to hear Mr. Landeau is now flying in a Godly orbit.
