The only Trabant in the collection (so far).
Sunnyside # SS4726 Trabant kombi (wagon) (black w/ black int)
Doors open, amber tail lights. Rear tag: "DDR 1989" rear friction wheels
Baseplate: "S" (logo) / "Made in China / SS4726 / Sunnyside Guangxhou / MFG 07/20/2009 / BATCH 0900805"
Edit: forgot to mention this has a real nice feel (size and texture) in the hand. Feels like quality. Nicely done.

Guangzhou is mainland China just across from Hong Kong... :)

That is a nice piece! I presume larger than 1/64?

Interesting. I hava a couple of Sunnyside Trabant Sedans from my childhood, they were sold here in the early 90's, but I have not seen the Kombi before. The scale is close to 1/32 I think

Probably right on the scale. Need to measure it and compare to actual dimensions. It seems to be an odd scale.

Ripa's right. Pretty dang close to 1/32. Dimensions in diagram are in mm. The model length is 120 mm. Comes to 0.034 or close enuf to 1/32.

I found this and a red two-door sedan at Rite Aid just a few years ago (2013?); had to buy them because I'd never seen Trabants in this country in any scale, even though they have nothing to do with my "emergency vehicle" collection:

One Of Every Maker by b2young
I still have a few makers up my proverbial sleeve.....just busy days trying to enjoy the waning days of summer....

For instance:

Found at Rite-Aid a few years back, these pull-back cars are NOT from the 'usual suspects' (Kinsmart and it's ilk).

Posted Image
They're Trabants (unusual enough on that note, for USA market); feature opening doors. License plates announce country-of-origin for the 1:1--DDR, or East Germany as we knew it.

Logo is that stylized "S" with the fast-speed-motion wind-ripples....which, based on the sticker, represents "Superior" as the maker. At least, that's MY take on it..... (unless the "S" logo on the hood/bonnet represents a Trabant model called "Superior"......)

Thanks for the info on the actual maker (Sunnyside); as you can see, I had no clue and presumed the "Superior" on the paper label might have been the maker. However, what does the stylized "S" on the hood/bonnet mean?

Here are my sedans from my childhood. I know I have a third one too which is green, but I just couldn't locate it at the moment. They are obtained in around 1995.

The white one has a price tag of 9,80mk in the bottom, which equals around two bucks at todays currencies.
