Top Notch!

Those are definitely pre-enjoyed. Love the turbine and the Silver Shadow. I mean, no tires at all? Awesome.

We are so used to seeing everybody's beautiful models, even if not always perfect, but it is a nice change to see the rough ones once in awhile,
then of course, being they are old Matchbox, they still have a kind of beauty. B)

Many of my RW era Matchbox isn't in the best shape, most are quite chipped. Many aren't in that bad of shape, some just need repainted (but are still very much displayable just the way they are), others a few bucks of replacement parts (tires seems to be a big one) and a paint job. Some of the worst ones are still good as bases for customs or junkyard diorama material.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
I love all those pictures! What great relics...some would make great "saves" as salvaged customs, or "resto-customs."

Wow ... these are rough...

Besides restoring them battered up models, I wonder what ways there are (besides 'playing') to get them to look weathered/played a lot.
Has anybody studied/tried that?
Should we start a thread on the subject?

Well, maybe not, why try and find efficient ways to deliberately damaged them fine goods... never mind me!

I can see where that Gladiator pick up looks kind of neat, maybe even with a fold down windshield and paint it could look like some sort of safari vehicle or something, I don't know what, but it's not a bad look anyway.

autobaum - yeah! those too!

hey I just thought of something!
I think it'd be uber cool to redo that tow truck as a BP truck! or even in Shell or Texaco!
I could really see it restored in BP tho
but IF I had a choice TEXACO all the way, baby!!

with a 60s era Texaco logo on the doors & 24hr towing on the big part of the bed

Well it is a 60s era Ford anyway ;)

like this logo
