Model names?

Pegers, I love the Yatming reference number posts with the pictures. But, why no model names in the title or thread? Sure would help us Yatming novices. Also, why the image "1st five pictures are views of the casting" in each thread? I think we understand that. Usually, you have more than 5 pictures anyways and it just slows down the thread.

Otherwise, Thank You for an outstanding reference and all your work.

Pensno1,thanks for the kind words.
"why no model names in the title or thread?"

the reason each post has the 5 pics of the casting is because they are from my collection.
the extra pics are pieces that are in my collection.

as for names of castings,do the following and you will be rewarded:

go to the database bay.at the bottom there are sub-forums listed in orange.
click on yat ming-1000 series.
once this opens.go to bottom right hand side of the 1st page.and make the following selections:

show topic from--click on:any date

sorted by--click on:title

in--click on:ascending order

then press--view.
this will list the 1000 series from 1001 to 1099.each number will have the name of the car.note:
i use the name on the base.so some i have posted will have a different name that others might call it.

Note:we do not want/allow comments in this section.feel free to add any pics of cars not listed as a reply.

It is true we discourage chit chat in the database, but model information is appreciated, including other examples of the same casting.

Even easier is to go to the Yatming model list: http://swiftysgarage.net/topic/7412536/1/#new

The models are listed by model number. One of these days I'll go through and build a second list by car maker, but for now since Yatming tends to number their castings, this is what we have. There are links that can be clicked to show the models we have examples of. I did this to make it easier to find models instead of going through all of them looking for that one specific model.

Thanks guys! The Data Base area is much more useful. Though, a lot of Photo Bucket images don't show up. I will add my photos when I can.

Yeah, the Photobucket Fiasco has put a serious dent in the database, but it will clean up and continue on. Thankfully about half of the images were not on PB and weren't affected, so a goodly portion of it is still up and running, and the casting lists alone are worth the price of admission.

After all these years here, I just learned something new.

Always saw that stuff down there but never paid it much attention. :duh:

Thank you. The light is now on. Someone is home.

It error because of your links to here. PB fixed it so that you can't get your pics back from there.
But, you can fool them. I figured out a workaround for the problem.
----
Go to PB.
Add a new album to hold pics. Leave it blank for now.
Go to album that you want to download that don't work.
Click on the Checkmark in the bottom right corner of the thumbnail pic.
Click on all the ones that you want to download. All of them if necessary.
Go to bottom of the page, click on the "Copy" option there.
Select the blank album that you made at the beginning, on the dropdown menu.
When the pics are done copying, go to that new album. A copy of your pics will be there.
Download that album to your computer. Or just download them individually.
Repeat for any other albums.

So, are you saying that PB has decided to steal our intellectual property? Is there something in the EUA for 'membership' in PB that says as soon as we upload a photo to them, they 'own' it?

I think you will find, if you actually read the (old) user agreement, that in fact they do claim ownership of all images and can do with them as they will. More than once going there to look at other people's pics, I was offered coffee mugs and t-shirts and assorted items with the particular pic I was looking at emblazoned on them.

That was one of the main reasons I never joined to begin with.
