Some of you guys might remember Neil's Wheels, a mail order business for Matchbox models and some other diecasts. Neil is no longer with us, passed away a number of years ago, but I do remember ordering Matchbox from him from time to time. This bus was one he offered in his list, although he clearly had it noted as a Code 3, or Not an authorized design, or something like that, but I was fond of his business so I got one. The glue on the labels appear to have bled through over the years on mine, so hopefully they wont fall off eventually. ![]() ![]()

Neil's Wheels - brings back a lot of good memories. Yes, I ordered many, many models from Neil's Wheels over the years. He always had a great supply of models and excellent customer service. I, too, had that bus at one time. I have noticed on many of the Code 2, 3 and beyond buses seem to have the glue showing through the label like your example.

Pretty much every model in my collection where the glue has "dried" under the label has resulted in the label(s) falling off. I wonder if brushing a thin coat of Pledge ® floor wax over the label(s) will seal the label....like it coats and protects model paints and decals? |

I guess floor wax is acrylic so maybe that would seal the old labels, on the other hand I'd also be afraid it could soak through the paper and loosen the glue right up.....hmmm, I think I'll let someone else be the guinea-pig and they can tell us if it's all good.

Funny but I might actually still have one or more of those old school lists from him, I saved most everything related to diecast.

Neil's Wheels rings a distant bell, but nothing specific. Will have to sleep on it. Love the Code 3! |
