Stooped by the nearest Walmart today and found a restock of an old batch, and then I'd seen a restock of the Jeep Series down on the bottom pegs, I thought they were clearing them out, but apparently not this store, they seem to just keep restocking them......

.....But Wait! What is this on the pegs next to the Jeeps, a new 6 vehicle camouflage series it appears, so I don't know what the actual name of this series is, but they all seem to be in camouflage paint, and is otherwise not marked with any particular series name.

They were a little more than the regular singles at $1.27, but that's not bad. Great card art too!

My favorites of the group the F150 Raptor and the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

Here is the Jeep Compass and the Yamaha Rhino

And finally the Blizard thing (only generic of the group) and the Hummer

While there are no tampo detailed lights or anything like that the metal parts of the bodies are all fully camouflaged, sides, backs, tops, and hoods.

There are a couple of hunters in this area who have camouflaged vehicles - I think they are both Jeeps. It is an interesting series - not my cup of tea these days and am wondering just how popular it will be - especially knowing how the Jeeps have just hung there forever and still are in most of the Wally's I have been in of late.

Looks like Walmart is pricing the exclusive regular Matchbox series the same way as the exclusive series regular Hot Wheels. For that price I would gladly pay it for the land cruiser but to make it worth the price, please, please mattel bring back the original all metal body.

I'm not a big fan of the camo-look, but this series actually looks pretty good.

Raptor looks good, but I think the Chevy Silverado and Blazer would have been a welcome addition, as both would have resembled '80s CUCVs.

Around here, you see a lot of hunters in beat up trucks and SUVs that have painted them in some kind of camo pattern. Not my cuppa tea, but each to his own.

As usual I was just about to post a topic on this.....anyway, I wonder if Matchbox is paying a license fee to Hot Wheels for copying the 2016 Hot Wheels camouflage series? Would that explain the price increase? I mean, there are 5 licensed vehicles and one "matchbox original" in this lot....why is this unnamed series (and hitherto unannounced series--I guess we should be delighted for an un-expected product to hit the shelves/pegs....) worth paying MORE for? (Caveat: I bought the four 'summer/fall' camo rigs and left the 'winter' vehicles hanging. Mostly because they were licensed, and because the Toyota and Jeep look good. Not being a completist, I have only ever seen that Jeep Compass in a 9-pack before....and never saw it released as a single til now. Is it that 'rare'?)

Hehe... I just replied to your other comment in the Color Changers discussion...

The camouflage series was announced months ago (maybe a year ago). I know because I put the Land Cruiser and Rhino on my wanted list right away.

I'd guess the price is higher simply because they are a 'special' series.

I agree Cody about including the Silverado and Blazer, they might have used those two instead of the Blizard and Hummer,
although I would have preferred maybe a brown and black paint scheme anyway instead of the blue white Winter camo.

Also have seen a camo vehicles around my area, albeit not often, the one sheriffs office used to have a camo pick up,
but no idea what they used that for.

I'm not sure if you guys had seen my note about them being fully camouflaged on the whole of the metal body, not the plastic parts though,
so I figured the extra tampo hits may be the reason for the higher price.

Because they're competitors, even though owned by the same parent? Anyway, more or less kidding in the first place.

I live in "hunter" country, and so far the stores I've seen these at have the entire set in stock. But I agree, I think someone with full camo on their hunting truck would pick up a model with the same basic camo pattern/color if they saw it, for the kid(s).
