Nice model. I always liked the first Yesteryear models that came out.
I also find it strange that Yesteryear models never were a big hit amongst collectors.

I think in general toys appeal to those who can relate to them through some life experience. Some of the Yesteryear models may have been cool with an older crowd. My collecting buddy (now 85 years young) collected these. I don't know too many collectors personally, so can't say for sure. I know my dad liked them too. I wasn't so thrilled with them, but managed to save all mine (red Ford model T, gold Cadillac, silver-green Rolls-Royce). I think that was it! May have one or two more now. I notice that the tables of cast iron toys seem to be less crowded at shows. Maybe because this world no longer concerns the boys and girls who originally had them as kids.

I think they are cool, in a nostalgic sort of way.

I'd like to see someone do 'early' cars using today's standards in production (I'm talking AW/TLV/Kyosho quality), but I'm sure demand would be low.

While they do have a charm about them to me now, when I was a kid I wasn't too interested, my dad did get me a gift set one year,
but tir size didn't really fit in with the 3 inch cars I liked to play with.

I would really like to see Matchbox do a couple of the old timer cars in the 3 inch line, they never offered any, I guess since they had
the yesteryears where they could give more attention to the fine details

I think you have a valid point here. In general, most of us collectors do collect their point of interests which is situated somewhere in our lifespan.
Hence these cars would be simply too old.
Either way, these Yesteryears are very nice and I'm happy I have a few in my collection.

My dad was born in 1917 and so he was able to share some personal stories and memories about some of the brass era cars - the MOY models were a collection that he and I shared. I always thought it would have been neat if Matchbox had made a 3 inch Yesteryear series - I don't know if they would have sold any better but would certainly had fit in with the main line Matchbox models. Hot Wheels did some nice vintage models that seemed to sell fairly well - Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg, Bugatti, Packard - makes me wonder if they would consider a vintage classic car or two for the main line someday - especially since they have returned to actual cars and trucks.
