Just a dollar. How did I do?

Saw this at a garage sale this morning. The guy had had a toy store and was selling everything leftover from the store. Nearly everything had high price tags leftover from the store I assume. I picked this up off the table and it had a $10 price tag on it, which I was prepared to pay. My mouth dropped when I walked up to the guy to pay for it and another item I had in my hand and he said 'Two items, two dollars'. It isn't mint, but in decent condition and still has all its tires. And I've always wanted one, it just was not high on my list and I did not want to pay high dollar for one.

You certainly did great!

Think I paid $5 years ago for one with a cracked big window on top over the rear area, not to mention you'd probably have had to pay more than that for reproduction tires for it if they had been missing. :D

Maybe it is not mint, but it sure looks good in the pics, especially for its age.

:1: Trophy time with this one. What a deal to get that model for a dollar. Definitely might be the buy of the year for you! Great looking piece. Curious - what was the other model you got for a buck?

You scored big time. Given the condition, $10 was fair to good (not really beat up, all tires are there). but a dollar was a steal.

I've been looking for one myself, as I already have some F1 cars of the era that Matchbox did. The transporter originally came with some if I'm not mistaken.

Cody, it was actually available on its own as well as the gift set, where it was included with the racers.

It was first released as a Major Pack issue, M-6 was the series number and is on the base, and then later the base was modified when this model moved to the King Size range as K-5, though the color and decals stayed the same throughout its production years.

It was sold in the Major Pack series just as a transporter. I think, and my memory is a little foggy, that if you got it as part of a gift set there were cars with that.

An excellent find and purchase! Did you get the 'Vette for a $1 too?

So do you want $2.00 for it?

Yes, the Corvette was a dollar also. Seller had another one, plus several other early GL Vettes and many Tyco era Matchbox Corvettes, Johnny Lightning and Racing Champions Vettes for $1 each.
