Porsche 914-6; Matchbox vs Hot Wheels

I got the Best of Matchbox 914-6 in the mail today. I found the Car Culture 914-6 at Walgreens the other day. I figured I would attempt a comparison post on the two.

Right off the bat, I can tell you that the Car Culture 914-6 is slightly smaller that the Matchbox 914. The Matchbox 914-6 has 1:60 on its base. I think that the decos and wheels look great on both.

The Matchbox has a bit more detail to it than the Hot Wheels. That does give it a slight edge.

It's more evident on the back, as the Hot Wheels has no real decos while the Matchbox does.

The Matchbox is likely much more stock 914-6 with some racing decos. On the other hand, the Hot Wheels 914-6 might be more of a customized track based car, especially given the fact it was released in Race Day. Furthermore, it is also possible that the Hot Wheels 914-6 mighe be based off of the 914-6 GT.

So overall, while I would say that the Matchbox 914-6 has a slight edge, it's mainly because of the extra decos, especially on the rear. Both of these two are cool little cars to have in your collection.
