It's been a while since I've posted anything but I still check in to see what's going on. Not collecting as much but that's for a variety of reasons. I recently bought a Commemorative Custom Toronado. It looks to be pearl white with white interior, just because it is cool and I liked the older stuff. It doesn't say it's a white lightning on the pog, but to me it looks identical to the same car as the one that's labeled a WL. I see it listed as a WL on eBay. Does anybody know if it is a WL? I'm just a little unsure because the WL were usually identified as such on the pog (that I know of). |

I checked www.jlcollector.com and the Commemoritives series 1 Tornado was issued in white, but there were no white lightnings for that series. However, series 5 and series 6 had white lightnings. I seem to recall that the series number was often printed above or near the upc, so if you still have the card, you might be able to figure out what you actually have. |

Thank you Deuce! It does say Series 1. Funny how the same car became a WL in later series. Toyotageek, I call it a pog, others may call it something else, but it's the plastic coin included with the name and picture of the car as well as the production number. This one is 05391. Also has Johnny Lightning Limited Edition around the edge. Edited by Dadvball, Oct 18 2017, 05:32 AM.

The early chase cars were marked "A Bonus" or "Bonus" on the pog. The series number would be on the pog as well. They are still called White Lightnings by collectors, but JL didn't officially use that name for their chase cars until after the repop Toppers. I can't see, but it sounds like a bonus car to me...the Topper repops in white were the bonus cars, I can't think of any regular issues in white. There are the zamac "Q" cars, something like 500 of each model, that are also considered chases of a sort. |

Juan, this one doesn't say Bonus. I have had a few in the past that said Bonus and also White Lightning. It's true about people call this a WL. During my searching there were several listed as White Lightning. |
