This one is a real beauty. It’s not the one they released a few years ago, but it’s nice to finally have a replica of this iconic Mopar in my collection. I’ve seen what the original JL Vanishing Point Challenger goes for on the secondary market and I just don’t have the money for it.

Second fav movie of all time... First was Thunder Road...
I have the first issue carded and loose... I wonder why the little red "HEMI" is on the hood now... Original don't have it and the real one was a 440...

I’m not sure why they did that. The one in the remake had a Hemi, but no front license plate. It might be based on a Vanishing Point Challenger replica with a Hemi.

Always wanted one but never got it for some reason. Maybe I will see it soon for sale. Looks great I must say.

Now that I have taken a closer look at the card art, the new issue seems too be from the second movie. The reissue of the AMT plastic kit had the same card art. I don't recall all those helicopters chasing Kowloski...
In the second movie they destroyed a real Challenger instead of a Camaro.

I liked the race between the Jaguar XKE and the Challenger much better than the Charger chasing the Challenger in the second movie...

They do show a piece in the movie of a 426 Hemi engine, but look very closely at the emblems on the hood. It is too long for just the 4 letters of HEMI. It appears to say 440 MAGNUM.

In the beginning of this clip it is a little easier to make out the emblem saying 440 MAGNUM on the hood.

All in all, this was a great movie, but I lean towards liking the 1st run much better...
