Merry Christmas but buckle up only if you want to. I refuse to let BIG Brother tell me what to do "for my own good". |

Same here! Merry Christmas everyone. ...and please buckle up. You only have to kiss a windshield at 40 mph once, to be convinced. I had that same chip on my shoulder. |

Having worked in emergency services my entire working life, I would encourage all drivers to buckle up before you drive. In the past week alone, 3 loved people have been killed in car accidents locally because they didn't use seatbelts. Three weeks until Christmas and 3 families have lost children or a parent because those people were not 'buckled in'. It's still your choice, but here, if you're pulled over and you're not wearing your seatbelt, you get a ticket and a fine. In fact, if a state policeman sees you NOT wearing your seatbelt (even while simply driving past you or seeing you at a stop light/sign, that is legal grounds to pull you over here....."BUCKLE UP--IT'S THE LAW"....that's what the situation is here, and the signs remind you of it. Otherwise, MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.....and here's a nice Christmas gift idea for your family and friends: BUCKLE UP! to help assure you'll be around at Christmas. |

Again Merry Xmas but not wearing a seat belt is not a primary violation in every state. Funny, I owned a truck with a "Jake Brake", a safety device which is outlawed in many areas. Let's let these things and helmet laws up to the individual. Happy New Year. |
