Those greenlight ford f-100 rubber tires work wonders for the white walls.

Nice pics of good looking automobile. One of my favorites. Had a good buddy in USAF electronics tech school had a red sunliner, gift from his dad for making it through bootcamp. Have 2 of the Ertl Am. Muscle issues, one to make a sunliner. Think JL needs to rework the mold as it appears to be losing its sharpness, I also have an early JL black with flames and noticed it not being as sharp in detail as the Ertl.

Convertible
I have this one as well. It's a great casting and my father had one just like this red one. Bought it brand new in 1963 with a 352 V~8 engine and automatic transmission.

A short time later, my uncle bought one just like dad's, but with the 427 dual 4 bbl set up. His had a 4 speed tranny with a cool floor shifter. Only difference in appearance I remember was the engine size emblems, the red interior, and the tires and wheels. I bought an extra one and dressed it up like uncle Bob's...

Dad crashed his about 4-5 months later on a snowy, ice covered road by hitting a light pole sliding sideways. It totally demolished the 63. He ended up with a brand new white 64 Ford convertible with a black rag top. This one had the new 390 V~8 engine...
Uncle Bob traded his red 63 427 off for the new high performance edition 64 Ford with the 427. He liked the bubble hood that came from the factory on the 64s...LOL
I guess you could get them in 63, but it was special order and was a huge back log of orders...
He got one just like this AW replica... All were great rides and beautiful machines...
