Out of all the brand new Falcon Rancheros I remember seeing on the showroom floors from 1960 to 1965, was the 64s and the 65s. The 60 - 63s were ok and looked great as regular cars, but the bodies looked to rounded for a truck to me. I liked the squared off body on the Rancheros of 64 and 65 much better... I believe they went to the Ford Fairlane body in 1966... ![]() ![]() A real 1:1 1965.... ![]() ![]() 1966 & 1967 body style: ![]() Between the 64 Fairlane and the 66 Fairlane, Ford produced one of their most ugliest cars of the 60s. The 1965 Ford Fairlane. Very unpopular and poor sales. No diecast company has ever done one of these replicas... ![]() Edited by Stangfreak, Dec 13 2017, 06:51 AM.

my bro had a 1962 Ranchero pickup with the 3 on the tree Only reason I know how to drive one is cause my day had a 80s Ford Econoline like that Ford used Falcon parts to make the 1964 1/2 Mustangs Also the Ranchero was made until 1979 So I hate it when they advertise a old Falcon & it sez "with a Mustang rear end" well

JL has done a nice job with the Ranchero. I do recall back in the day most of the guys I ran with didn't think much of them - to them it was not a "real truck".

That is so funny you say that Scotty... That was and is my thought exactly... I used to get an extreme thrill going to a Ford dealer every year with either my uncle Bob, Grandpa, or my dad, as at least one of them was always buying a new Ford, Comparing and seeing how many changes I could spot on the models, Galaxie, Falcon, Fairlane, and later the Mustang, I remember being extremely disappointed in this Fairlane. It was on the Dan Royans Ford dealership in late 1964 and to a 10 year old little boy, it was quite ugly...LOL |
