Here are three Johnny Mustang castings I did some switching around on and became much more satisfied with all when I was finished.
First is this Tomy/Johnny Mach 1 I loved the color and detail on, but the wheels had to go. They just didn't fit the era of this muscle car, and they have the look od a show car wheel instead of a performance car wheel.

Second is this Johnny Stang I didn't care for the flame job down the body, but had some sweet Cragar mag wheels that have more the look of a performance looking wheel.

This one also had developed some diecast corrosion along the hood and fender edges and was in desperate need of repair.

I did some sanding and prep work on the black one and sprayed the hood with a new cote of paint.

Since the flame job wasn't a bad paint job at all, but gave this Stang a more of a show car look, I took the show look wheels from the blue Mach 1 Stang and stuck them on the black flamed Stang. Now it had a 100% show car look to me.

Then the Cragar performance wheel went on the blue Mach 1 and now it has a 100% performance look.

I did like the look of a black Stang with the performance look Cragar mags, so I picked up another flame job Stang and removed the flames. I was real happy with the look of all three of my awesome Stang additions!!!

Sorry about the funky pics... Dust and lint shows up big time and seem to make the cars beat and chipped up!!!

Amazing what a bit of paint and wheels swaps do for the look of these die-cast. Nice work and I really like the all black......
