Ok so I'll admit I knew "topper" would have a dual use in the Johnny Lightning forum, but hope you're not disappointed if you checked this thread thinking there was an old Topper JL to see here, because the topper I'm referring to is the camper shell used sometimes on the old Champ pickup JL offered years back.

Where I grew up we used to call this type of shell cover a topper.

Here are my few examples.....

And a lucky find at KB Toys many years back, not sure if these are actually worth much more, but it was always fun to find a WL.

This blue one is actually my favorite, nice color, and I do like that it comes with an added part as the camper shell. The first one in red would have excited me as much, though I don't think the gangster white walls look so good on an old pickup.

Topper for the back of a pickup is a common term around here as well. I liked that the topper could be taken off and/or put on one of the other pickups. Neat to see the Bonus White Lightning Edition. I liked the Studebaker pickup casting and have a number of variations of it.

not sure I care for the wild whitewalls on these - most Studies I recall weren't all "dressed up"

one of my favorites is the John Deere version which came without a topper

I bought when new on the pegs. My favorite is the light blue with WW. Very nice offering from JL.

Seems that lighter blue might be a little closer to the color of the 1/1 on the packaging than mine, but the John Deere one is great, and the wheels on the dark green.
