Well it has been a good weekend, a local train show on Saturday landed me some diecast, and the far away flea market today I found a few others things of great interest to me.

First is something nice from the train show, it is an upgrade to one of my Peterbilt (Police) Wrecker collection (SFPD version).

Can you tell which is the old and which is the upgrade . Hint: there is nothing wrong with the paint or tampos on either.

Now it can join the rest of the fleet with dignity.

Let's move on to the flea market finds, 3 New to my fleet of fire trucks.

The ladder truck in front is a regular issue with the playset Intercom City paint scheme and logo, I believe I have the normal Intercom City issue with the black electronic base already, but don't remember ever finding the basic range variant with standard chrome base.

The Snorkel and Mack Floodlight Truck are pretty uncommon in red, (basic range releases were in the neon orange) in fact this was the first I'd ever seen of the red ones, looking on BAMCA I see they were from multipacks in the early 90's before I started collecting. I do have the ladder truck with checkers in red, (not shown) which found in a blister pack years back, but I believe those were just a short run release in red, normally also in the neon orange.

The red versions may have come from a Costco or BJ's exclusives if I recall correct.

Good Scores!

I know the red ones were offered by Sam's Choice. May have been other places too as Brian mentioned but I am not aware of those.

Nice additions to your collection Douglas. I had forgotten about those fire rigs being available in red - those do look nice.

Thanks guys, and thanks Brian and Sammy for the information on their origins, I remember years back that Service Merchandise offered a special 15 or 20 car sets with a few exclusive models in it, and I had a hunch it came from a set like that from another store.

Here are a couple other emergency vehicles I got from the train show that I forgot to show....

a couple loose non working "Siren Force or Rescue 911" series issues, a series from before my time of collecting,

I only WISH there were "train shows" and more common flea markets around here....but just not enough people live here to make them viable.

Great finds, Doug! I have rather playworn black and SFPD versions of the Peterbilt...guess I'll be on the lookout at the next 2 or 3-times a year flea market at the fairgrounds. (And at the toy show in Albuquerque next summer....)

I never knew there were red versions of the Floodlight and Snorkel in the Battenburg livery! More to add to the fulfillment list...

Keith you are correct, the stacks are the upgrade, (sorry no prizes :D ).....I have no idea what happened to the stacks on the old one, they were both there when I bought it, then a few years ago while taking it from the jammers case I noticed the one missing, but it wasn't in the jammers case, then when I pulled it out of the case to take this photo recently, I'd seen the other one was missing, but it was rolling around the compartment in the case.....funny thing is the other two wreckers in the case never had a problem.

Blair, I don't know of many places around me to go to anymore, the train show is the same one every 3 months and it's about 20-25 miles from home, and the flea market I go to is only worth going on the Moday Holidays, like this past one on Martin Luther King Day, and it is 60-70 miles from home, the closer weekend fleamarket is hardly ever worth bothering, and that's even with me maybe only going there once every 2 years or so.

Thanks guys!

Microbuss, yeah that would be nice to see if the airport security one is another I'm missing, I don't see too many of the light and sound models around anymore at shows and markets.
