A police car model of which I know nothing. Could that be a Chevrolet Impala ? and can someone say something to the manufacturer? I do not even have an idea. On the metal base stands only * MADE IN HONG KONG * (?). The inscriptions are stickers. The car is in the scale about 1/60. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by EDeKa, Jan 28 2018, 11:06 AM.

Can't help with the brand issue, but the car does look like 70's Impala. I have not seen it before but now I want one |

That would be an LJN. They made several variations of that Impala for different TV shows of the '70s I have that black and white from "CHiPs". The blue and white one, I can't remember off the top of my head. It'll come to me. |

LJN Chevy Impala from the 1970's. It was originally issued as part of the Star Car's series in the blue in white paint job PJ shows, it was supposed to be a car from the series "The Rookies". The Highway Patrol issue was part of a series done for "CHiPs". The CHP marked cars were later released in generic Highway Patrol sets with out reference to "CHiPs". I know the car was issued in red as part of a fire set and green as a military car also. |

And would it be correct to call it "Imperial" as well? I have L.J.N. castings (the "Emergency" set and some loosies) that also bear reference to Imperial, and one Ward LaFrance pumper on a Laramie branded card (it does not say "L.J.N." on the base like others do...) I presume Laramie just used the L.J.N. casting for their issue. (Or could it be that Laramie is the "L" in LJN?) |

Toys and with Pictures from the same policecars. http://swiftysgarage.net/topic/7410636/1/ After that it is the vehicles WITHOUT brand for copies ??? , but I´m not sure ??? We did a lot of research on this topic several years ago when my good friend Captain Richard Yokley was working on one of his books. LJN produced the Squad and the Ward pumper model from Emergency! as well as several other models from SWAT and some other shows I can't recall. These casting were eventually used by Imperial, Laramie and JaRu. Check out "EMERGENCY! Behind the Scenes" it should have a bunch of other details and info. |

Here's a quick follow up post to show the same casting from different companies. The Roadstar version from LJN/Universal is shown in plain red, the other version with the gold door logos is a later release (I believe from Imperial) - ![]() and the baseplates -

Pretty sure JaRu was another distributor. We already know Imperial contracted models...cool to see LJN was one of the makers they contracted from! I could stand corrected, but I think LJN came under the umbrella of Universal at some point in the 1980s. Not sure where Laramie fits in the puzzle, but I think they are best known for adding pencil sharpeners in some castings. Lots of cool stuff guys! |
