Excellent models.I dont ever recall seeing those King Stars before.
They were made in Korea - I know the ones I have were all found in a grocery store chain in St. Louis.
the only other King Star models I know of are Mercedes fire chief, Mercedes sedan ambulance, and the aerial ladder truck. Did they make any Police vehicles?
The only place I ever saw that Kingstar Mitsubishi aerial ladder truck was in the AC Company (Alaska Commercial Company) store in Galena, Alaska. Of course, I bought the only one they had--probably depriving some Air Force "brat" of a rare toy (there's an Air Force base there). (AC Co is one of those general merchandise stores--groceries and just about anything you could need out in a 'bush village'--that even up to present day is the only store in many villages in the interior of Alaska.) (Galena is about 270 miles west of Fairbanks...but there is no ground route/road to there. Accessible only by air or the Yukon River, like most of the villages in the interior, being situated mostly on rivers.)

I've never seen another King Star model of any kind, anywhere but here. The ambulance and 'fire chief' Econolines are way cool!

Curious: what's the "E" for on the vans, and the "F" for on the trucks?

I believe the E-series name started in 80s or so when they changed the body style of the vans and shortened the name Econoline series to E-series. Not sure about the "F" on the trucks though.

Thanks, Sammy! That's kinda what I was thinking (and wondering)....and I've been trying to come up with a similar explanation for the "F-" series trucks....("Four wheel drive?..no..."Ford"?....well, yeah...maybe "FUN"....yeah, that could work!)

Meanwhile, my first entry into this Tailboard Talk issue:

From what I've read I think it may just be a class designation, F for cab on chassis medium to heavy duty trucks, the E seems like it might be for medium and heavy duty trucks with integrated chassis and body, what we call vans, and the following number designates the weight it carries, 150 half tone, 250 3/4 ton, and so on. I think the heavy duty trucks go all the way up to F-850, not sure about vans.

My old Mazda PU's were designated as a B Series in the badging, like B-2000 and B-2200, which it seems like that was just showing a designation for the type of vehicle, in this case a small pick up truck.

So anyways, it almost doesn't sound like they stand for any kind of name, but "E"Econoline Van and "F"Ford-Truck work for me. :D

A late model Yatming E-350 with Ambulance box. The box has some nice detail but it gets lost in the lack of highlighting

Here is what I know and what I have been told by "Ford truck people"

The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks and medium-duty trucks (Class 2-7) that have been marketed and manufactured by Ford Motor Company since 1948. When Ford launched its new truck product line in North America after W.W.-II it gave the individual entries an "F-number" to denote relative capacity: F-1-F3 were light trucks. F4through F-8 were medium trucks. This gave the image of having an entry in each of the recognized truck . All "F" series Ford trucks serial numbers start with the letter "F".

The Ford E-Series also known as the Ford Econoline and Ford Club Wagon throughout various stages of its production is a range of full-size vans produced by Ford since 1960. The "E" series are also produced in the cut-away-chassis as we see in ambulances and etc.
