![]() From Tom Z's write-up for the sale: "Johnny Lightning die cast 1:64 scale Lightning Patrol 1967 Chevy Camaro Preproduction Sign-off factory ERROR Sample. Car has a die cast body with an opening hood. The following should be noted: - Has silver vents on hood(removed in production) - SS on front nose(removed in production) - White stripe on front nose(removed in production) - Has silver trim around side windows(removed in production) - No factory date code stamp on chassis" ---------------------------- I remember picking up the retail issue when it first hit the pegs, and put it back, not knowing at the time it was the lead off issue for the whole "Beat the Heat" series. I've kicked myself over that ever since, and never found another at a price I was willing to pay. So along comes this pre-pro with a list of "corrections" and it just had to come home with me... |

Very Cool Wes, I know I've never seen this before, but I don't even remember ever seeing the production version of this series model.

Back when the revised red card series came out after the RC2 takeover, the first runs as I recall were called "Anniversary," and this was in one of the first batches, I want to say maybe the third batch. I was picking them up in my local grocery store at the time. Not long after, the next round I think, was a Buick GSX, and I got that one, and all I found after (including the 2.0 "premium level" Dodge Dart, one of only two or three models I grabbed from that series). But I missed this Camaro back then. ![]() borrowed image, thank you Wyatt! This is the retail version |
