I was going through my cars and noticed I have two of these Police Interceptors. I thought they were exactly the same and I was tossing the other one to the trade pile but luckily had my eyes open - They are a tampo variation with the other one having "Marshal" with one L and the other one "Marshall" with two Ls on the side. Otherwise they are exactly the same.

I know the feeling. I was getting ready to give an extra version of the old Matchbox Dodge Wrecker I had away to a relative who owns a towing company and also collects tow trucks, then literally, as I was getting ready to go out the door with it, I found one had decals, and the other labels. I think every Regular Wheel I owned that I thought was a duplicate due to a lot buy or intentional upgrade turned out to be some kind of variation.

I never saw the misspelled version, but do have the correct one. As I understand, this was apparently made to represent an actual vehicle (which I am not sure just which). How did they let it through all the various steps of approval without correcting the mistake before it was released?

When the model was done the first wave had "Marshall" and to the MBX teams credit once the mistake was pointed out they corrected it to have one proper "Marshal" used to refer to the position.

It's one of those things spell check will not correct and is many times missed or not known by people. I know at work I routinely see items from the public addressed to the FIre Marshal written with two Ls.
