I had considered ebay for this truck as I had never seen one in a store. I was at a Dollar Tree and they had some of last years Matchbox cars just put out. There was one of each. I got this one finally. I put some of the details on I liked and added a slightly tall light. I really like this model and will hope to find another soon. It would be a perfect match to tow the radar trailer around Boone County. In the last two pictures, the Sheriff cornered a speeder.

Interesting fact is Boone county is next to Cooper county and the county seat of Cooper County is Booneville.

This may be one of the last weekends I could devote so much time to my small vehicles. The weather is improving and other hobbies and jobs will take over. I picked up a few more Boone County pick ups from the Bay and wanted to make one to tow with. Of course it would have to tow the radar trailer. Once I got my first BC truck, I had planned to paint a radar trailer to match. I'll keep the day job as I will never make it as a pin stripper, but you get the point.

Keith, if you don't have one, you'll have to get the Sheriff to get one now.

Yes, it was a very tedious chore to get the speeds to stand out, but that one is done. The lighted magnifier came in very handy on that.

Like the "custom" of the radar trailer to Boone County colors - and the bubble lights on the pickup add to the model as well. :toy:

I like how you detailed the Speed Trapper
Do you have the Boon County in a Ford Expedition?

Great work on both pieces! I especially like how you applied a black undercoat to the letters in order for them to stand out more when the colour was applied to it. I tried simply detailing the numbers themselves, but they didn't turn out quite as well as I hoped. And yes, I can relate to you on how tedious it was to paint the numbers...

No, unfortunately I only have some of the pick up trucks and the Explorer and trailer from Greenlight. I just got back into really collecting in the last 18 months. I really like the connection that Keith has with Matchbox, Greenlight, JL and hopefully others.

I'll be all over any Boone County items I run across in the future. I'm trying not to get everything off of the Bay, but it's difficult.

I wish I had a similar star decal for the trailer.

I'll be looking forward to the new Boone County MB.

Thanks for the good comments. I tried to highlight the speed in bright yellow at first, but it didn't work too well. I applied the flat black first, used a silver sharpie onto the "barely" raised segments and then cleaned up the overage with more flat black with a very fine brush.
