My Earliest Police Car

This MB was my earliest police car I remember having as a kid. A 1961 Ford. As I remember this one was a hard to find one. I rarely played with this one because the decals chipped easily.

At a later date I found 3 of these 1959 Buick police cars made by Husky at a local pharmacy, that had a cool MB and diecast section in the toy department. These were 29 cents each at that time. My grandma bought me all 3. Only 1 survived over the years, but you can see it got much more play time than the Ford...

A short time later, I found this regular daily driver version of that same 1959 Buick by Husky. I acquired two or three of these also. I bet I put a million miles on the Buick police car and this Buick in car chases...

Were they 'evenly matched'? Or did the police have more powerful engines in theirs? :D

I bought two Husky Buicks online and turns out, by good fortune, there were distinct shade variations between them. (Different sellers.)

I never had one of the Matchbox Fairlane police cars until I found one at the toy show at the Albuquerque gathering a few years back. But the ones I had as a kid were the Mercury wagon and the Galaxie and a Mercury cruiser with the two policemen inside (which, I just noticed to my dismay, I chose to repaint as a kid and it's horrible...in fact, two of them repainted by a sloppy kid.....)

I managed to acquire the "E" (Empire) brand plastic Buicks for police (a couple of variations) and a red fire chief variation.

Mine would be a similar story Steve - my earliest police cars are the same as the Matchbox and Husky models you show. I think my third one would have been the Wollseley from Budgie.
