Of note, the Mirada was the last Dodge to race NASCAR until 2001... But not the last Chrysler product. The Imperial was found to be more aerodynamic and a handful of teams kept them racing into 1985 (even after the production model was discontinued in 1983). Buddy Arrington finally gave up on the Imperial and acquired an ex-Melling Racing Thunderbird. Ironically, it would be that Thunderbird's original driver (Bill Elliott) who would lead MoPar's return in 2001.

I remember this casting very well. Hard to believe this one is around 30 years old. My so got the gold version for his birthday many, many moons ago. I had the red version and yellow version and I wanted his gold version. I can't remember his exact age then, but he is 38 years old now...
