I need to find one of these Greenlight 1968 Ford pickups and slap a camper on it, and repaint the camper and truck to build a replica of my dad's 68 Camper Special Ford pickup and Del Rey camper he had in 1968 & 69. The truck actually had a metal emblem on the rear sides of the bed that said "Camper Special". It was an F-250 with extra helper springs on the rear to carry the extra weight of the camper. We drove it through the Rocky Mountains on the way to California and that big 390 4 bbl pulled those hills and inclines with no problem. The truck and camper was stolen from in front of our house one hot summer night. Everyone had their windows open and no one heard a thing, including us. No trace of was ever found. ![]() ![]() I did one from this Lesney MB 68 Ford pickup and made the camper from a Majorette fit it. Would like to have a more detailed GL to keep... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Actually I already have a camper to use if it will fit the Fords. Doesn't look like they have a long bed. I repainted this flower power hippie camper to kinda match dad's but just stuck it back on the Dodge truck. (not glued)... ![]() ![]()
