The * GORDY * company was founded more than 40 years ago by Henry GORDY in USA. She produced various plastic and metal toys - including diecast models.
Back in the 70's, the * Gordy Mini-Mite * models, which I knew better, were made in 3-inch scale. This company has clear links at least to * Summer *, * Universal *, Kidco and * Yat Ming *. According to one source more than 30 years ago universal and later buzzer castings were distributed under the name * DieCast Mini-Mite *.
The Universal Castings were sold on blister cards, on which also Kidco stood as a label.
Later, there was probably a series with four * W * cars from an unknown company * Wheeler *.
It also commercial vehicles were sold, which were allegedly held by Universal. In 2001 Gordy offered a series of Yat Ming (Radical Wheels).
("My wisdom" comes from the internet and the book * Enceclopedia of Small-Scale Diecast Motor Vehicle Manufatures * and I saw now a GORDY-post from one of the makers from this book here on Swifty´s  : http://swiftysgarage.net/topic/6742810/1/ )
Blair (*b2young* thank you) could call me the manufacture of this police car, which has long been known, but did not know who made it: http://swiftysgarage.net/topic/9124066/1/#new
So now I could find more information.
------

This POLICE Cruiser is obviously a copy of Hot Wheel and made entirely of plastic, even the axles, which is rare.
