"Clear" paint for light bars and such

I am constantly learning. Today, after following b2young's advice in another thread, I got some "clear" colored paints to do light bars, brake lights and such. One thing I don't like are the plain jane light bars on the Greenlight service vehicles. I know plenty of light bars are similar and you don't "see" the color till the bars are activated. Still, I like to see the colors.

I had my NYC DOT truck and thought it would be a perfect test bed. The clear yellow enamel from Tamiya came out great in my opinion. See for yourself.

Nice work! I've used Tamiya paints for quote a while now, but have never tried the enamel version. It's awesome how much of an improvement a little bit of paint can add to a model!

Testors Model Master paints also have a Stoplight/Taillight red and a Turn Signal amber. their not transparent so the mounting lugs don't show through the light assembly.
