Just saw this on 829 Japan, does anyone know how they could secure the license if it's true?

I'm not entirely sure on the backstory on Ferrari and their licensing. All I have really known is Hot Wheels lost their license with Ferrari about 4 years ago or so. The relevance I have to this conversation is Mattel did make a yellow Ferrari 458 Italia last year as part of their Fast and Furious series. It's extremely rare, I've only seen picture of it, but it has been made

Going by the image from 829 Japan, it sures seems to indicate it may be a Ferrari, but until actual images are released we can't be certain.

And then, even if it is true, unless someone from either Ferrari or Takara Tomy steps forward and spills the beans, anything we can come up with as an explanation of "how they could secure the license" is all just speculation and conjecture on our part.

I'm 100% convinced this is indeed a new Ferrari coming out. In fact, before 829 Japan posted that, Jeff Koch posted the teaser pic and I said the exact same thing. Except I don't think it's the 488 Pista, but the LaFerrari. I'd like to think I know my supercars, and I can't think of a single other car it could be. Every line on the outline matches perfectly for a LaFerrari at that angle. Put any other car in there and some part won't match, but it's curve for curve dead on to a LaFerrari.

From my pictures above it might not seem as obvious given the eye is naturally drawn to the big pointy nose and the blacked out car doesnt have that. But look at the last picture and note that it's curved at the bottom and where the pointy part would be, doesn't stick past the curved part from that angle so you wouldn't be able to see it in a blacked out version.

If Ferrari is coming back to Tomica, and potentially to other brands, maybe Iíll finally get one of my biggest 1/64 scale wants:

Confirmed it's a LaFerrari. There is also a Testarossa for the Premium Line:

The LaFerrari is a hard pass for me from any die-cast company, but that Testarossa looks great!

This just made my day! I love both cars and both models look to be very nicely done. So can I now start day dreaming about the possibility of a Tomica Limited Vintage 250 SWB?

So, Iím looking at that Testarossa. Is it just me, or does there appear to be a gap around the headlights? It sure looks to me like itís ever so slightly raised. Could they be bringing back the pop up headlights like the Lotus Esprit casting had?

If those headlights open that is an impressive panel gap. I don't quite see it.

Looking at the white one, I don't see it. I was looking at the red picture. So that may just be wishful thinking on my part. But either way, can't wait for this one!

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
This makes my day. I'm not big on Ferraris, as I think they've been pretty extensively covered in 1/64 for the most part, but the Testarossa (are they working pop-up headlights like earlier Tomica & Majorette models or just separate molds for up & down, like the M2 Charger Daytona?) is really impressive and it's nice to see them readily available again. How many decades has it been since Tomica made a Ferrari?
