Some recent Maisto 9-packs (and one that's been around for a year or so...)

It's Sting Ray

And it's Camaro SS

And the older pack:

Astute observers will note that the blue civilian Camaro SS above the Colorado is a good companion to the above Camaro...

The Colorado

And now, what I WISH could have been the case in the store:

(The civilian Camaro above it's LEO counterpart...)

But, of course, the selection of what other cars to carry is a tough one, so I made another set with no police/emergency vehicles, but the other cars/trucks I'd keep...

Oooh, now it's a 12-pack!

Now, I know I have singles (somewhere) of both the School Bus and Garbage Truck....but until I confirm that, I'll keep them in these fantasy sets...

And here's what's left over....and they're not horrible, but just not my type...

Like you, the only models I've been interested in have been the police ones. Those include the ones you've shown and the Charger, but the fact that there would be so many leftovers has made me pass on them each time. Some castings aren't bad, but most of them are.
Never did know that there was a police version of the Camaro, though.

First - I think this is the first I have seen the Camaro police car. It kind of gets down to how bad you want the one model that is in each of the sets. One could hope someone might buy the set and not wanting the emergency vehicle would offer them in the flea market (I know wishful thinking). Reality is - back to my first comment - since these so far have not shown up as singles how bad does one want them and then what to do with the extras. I think in another post I commented that I would probably offer the extra ones to granddaughter Katie - and of those she didn't want possibly offer in the flea market and make another donation to the Dakota Boys Ranch Thrift Shop. :D

As mentioned in another thread, I bought one set for the Fire Dept pick up and another for the ambulance. Since I have not seen those models individual or in five sets and really Walgreens is the only spot for Maisto singles these days that in the long run this would be a savings. I figure between my time and gas to keep checking other stores was worth more then $5.00. Hoping to find the models in good condition at a flee market was fit or miss and finally to buy them from some one selling them off as singles on a here or eBay and pay shipping would be a wash.

I gave the left overs to the kids. So as PJ mentions if you don’t want them you most likely know a kid who will, or of a charity that will take them. Heck give them out with candy on Halloween.

I 'justified' my purchase of 3 sets (two different Walmarts) based on the $6.47 price point...and a conviction that the police cars/liveries (and the Fire Dept pickup) are 'exclusive' so not gonna be found outside the multipack unless someone's really weird and doesn't want the exclusive, but likes the other vehicles (?!). I'm pretty sure the Camaro Sheriff is the very-most-recent exclusive design in the 3-inch line. But I also had not seen the Sting-Ray in a police livery before last week.

In the 6 sets I've added to my collection, one good thing is there were only 4 duplicate models between them all, 2 School Bus, 2 Garbage truck, 2 Ford Taurus (silvergray with 'race' graphics) and 2 Plymouth "Hemi" 'Cuda. There were color variations on the Ford and RAM pickups between two sets (not including the Fire Rescue pickup), and 3 colors/liveries on the Camaro SS: charcoal, blue & the Sheriff (plus an issue with the set that had the Fire pickup....where two identical charcoal Camaro SS models were in the same package--which illustrates how easy it is to open these sets and swap cars* in a store--there's a tab/slot 'lock' on either end flap that can easily be opened with a fingernail and no tape or other sealant used. That's no guarantee someone switched anything before I bought it...and could easily be a 'factory error'.) Oh, there's also two different colors on the Lambo Hurrican in two sets, one white, one yellow.

I wish they had included the Chevy Colorado civilian colors (black and blue) in these 9-packs as well....there's only the POLICE one so far.

I picked up a set this morning on the way to work. I got the Mustang police car. I examined all the cars. The Mustang has the most detail of any of them. I'll bet might just be on purpose. I'll do something with a couple of the others. Some are not interesting.

If I buy multi packs for one or two of the vehicles I take and fill the empty slots with cars from other multi packs I split. Reseal them and take them to toy drives and drop them off. Mostly done around Christmas time but can give them to thrift stores. Also I have grandkids that can use them. Just a few thoughts.

That's a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.

I splurged on one a couple years back for the fire dept Ford PU, but it also had the civilian Raptor in it which I didn't have in that silver, and likely the only possibility of me doing it again would be for the police Ford PU, with a couple other civilian models I like included, or most preferably would be to find one with all three police vehicles like Blair's dream set. :D

Hmm...seem to have "another place" to take care of the extra cars from the sets that I would not want. Had a couple of the smaller kids at church in my office last night after services and they asked if they could have some of the cars on my desk. Yes, I do display a few things in the office. Told them they couldn't have those but when I came home picked out a few of my many extras to have on hand the next time I see them. Thinking if I grab some of these Maisto sets will just put them in a little box at the office that the kids can occasionally help themselves to. :D

John,

Not a bad thing to have something for the kids, as we both know the interaction with kids in our professions can vary greatly from happy moments to the worst possible things they Cana face. I have a bag I carry with me on the rig that is mainly full of things like extra glove and cold / warm weather gear for extend calls, anyway inside I have a pencil box type case with about four carded MBX fire trucks I give out to kids we encounter. I also keep a 1/2 dozen carded models in a box in my file Cabinet draw for visitors.

I have a few of those like the T-Bird, school bus in single packs. I'm sure that I have seen that Vette in a single pack as well.
