This one is on-going and I will update as I go along.

I have this old beater, a Tintoys model, and I want to turn it into this (picture not mine):

A tall order given the crude aspect of the Tintoys casting. I intend to keep the original body, base and windscreen which I will probably paint white. As for the rest, the wheels and the engine, it will have to be new.

I have already found a donor for the scoop.

I managed to find a pair of HW 5SP wheels that fit. The front wheels of the actual car are very small and the only ones I could use were the front wheels of the 400 Sentinel limousine. For the rear wheels, I used a normal HW small size. I still need to remove the chrome properly though.

The car stance is all wrong. The 1972 Matra Simca MS670 was sitting very low.

I had to cut these grooves deeper until I got a proper stance.

I think I also found a donor for the roll bar that sits behind the driver (if that’s a roll bar).

To be continued ...

Great work so far, will be following this thread and your progress. I myself have a Tintoys Citroen CX 2200 in pieces that I'm fixing up similarly
