Maserati Quattroporte III

A beater Ertl Maserati Quattroporte has been sleeping in my loose Ertl diecast box for years.
A recent sortout made it catch my attention, so i thought about giving it a new chance in a new color.

It turned out to be more difficult than i expected:
The windows were heavily etched, so i needed to sand them and polish them out.
The original baseplate is pretty much off, compared to the real car it felt completely wrong, so I decided to remodel it completely. Bumpers were too wide, some crucial details were missing, exhaust pipes added.

The wheels were used from a Greenlight 1991 Ford Mustang State Police, which i previously turned into a stock version.
These wheels seem to replicate the original Maserati Quattroporte III wheels quite ok.

Final result: Not perfect, but mine. :D

I haven't yet tried my luck in replicating the Maserati trident.

Very nicely done! I love to see vehicles like that which are sometimes not the highest quality and see people make something awesome out of them instead of starting with a HW or MBX.

I agree, a Maserati Minicar II is long overdue.
Just imagine the possibilities. I don't even dare starting a list....
