Oh my! I love it!

Also, the license plate reminds me of a John Candy movie. ;)

I would have to agree. The rear bumper seems very chunky even for a 5mph bumper.

Looks like the missed some tail light/ tailgate trim. Looking forward to this one though, as it is one of the six all new castings they promised us last year. There is a good chance I'll be buying every variation of this casting that I can find.

Agreed. Back bumper is proportionally too large in my eyes. There should be a gap between the back bumper and taillights. D-Pillars still look too wide as well. Everything else looks pretty good. I'm sure getting things to translate to 1/64 isn't always easy. This is the first legit 1/64 roundback we have.

I had agreed with several posts above which discussed the bigger than life rear bumper. After copying and pasting both the AW and real car pictures into paint to view them side by side, The AW rear bumper is more accurate than I originally thought. I never realized the section of the bumper above the black rub strip was as tall as it is in real life. As Craftymore said, I think the D-pillar may be the bigger issue. In the real car, part of the pillar is covered by the side glass. In the AW car, they cast the entire width of the pillar and moved it to the center- which makes the rear window a little too narrow. Hopefully they can paint the D pillar a bit differently to disguise this issue on the actual production models.

I need to wait to see it in my hands but I think it looks good. Sure wish AW would offer these wagons without the roof rack (especially the Ford wagon). The rack on this one is so chunky.

I can see why the d pillar is as thick as it is, gotta have the model strong enough to last.

How soon can this be Car Of The Day?

I like roof racks. I don't like THIS roof rack. The rack is almost as tall as the windows, which simply isn't the case in the picture of the real thing.

On the real clamshells, the D-pillar is very misleading as you can see in the picture above. It looks thin, but you can make out its real size in the rear quarter window. Manufacturers these days hide all of this with black glass, but back then, it was fairly obvious what they did especially with a lighter interior. I don't fault AW for making the D pillars a bit chunky, as I have no doubt replicating the real D pillar would be near impossible and they surely want the casting to not break easily.

Shall we just give it Casting Of The Year now... or should we at least wait until it hits pegs since it's already been delayed almost a year?

Yeah, the more I look at it I guess it's not that bad. For sure not a deal breaker as I hope to buy one of these.
