Hello,

This morning I went to edit the pictures in my for sale lot that I posted. I've been able to edit the post to make adjustments to what has been claimed and what is available until this morning. I also now have a picture that is not appearing in the sale thread that I have no way to edit to fix it. Other posts of mine in the same thread I can edit. Any suggestions/ tips?

John

You can edit posts for a certain time. After that you need to contact a moderator to edit them. If you have an image upload source where you can upload pictures with same file name than the previous one, that solves the problem.

I forget the set amount of time, something like 30 hours, and the ability to edit ends. Some guys used to do their editing in Photobucket back when that was an option, but I don't know how other hosting services work now, and images hosted here have to be reloaded.-

Due to abuse of the editing function in the past, there's a strict time limit (limited to a little over a day) to edit posts. That's been in place for many years, though we temporarily lifted it when the Photobucket image crisis happened. We reinstated it earlier this year for all members but contributors. The reasoning is twofold - there aren't many perks we can really offer to entice contributors (as we refuse to take anything away from membership to force people to contribute - that will never happen here), and anyone contributing to the forum is seen to have the best interests of the Garage in mind and hence less likely to abuse the system.
